FED: Kokoda Track no place for a casual stroll guide

BRISBANE, Jan 15 AAP - Unplanned and "shoestring" treks along the Kokoda Track were a
high-risk activity, a veteran of the notorious and rugged jungle path warned today.
The track - the scene of bloody hand-to-hand combat between Australian and Japanese
soldiers during World War II - has become a popular tourist destination among adventure
travellers.
