WA: Inquiry into bungled police raid announced

PERTH, Feb 9 AAP - West Australian police commissioner Barry Matthews today announced
an internal police inquiry into a bungled prosecution against a senior officer accused
of possessing amphetamines.
A charge against former armed robbery squad chief Detective Sergeant David Nugent of
possessing 3.1 grams of amphetamines was dropped in the Perth Magistrate's Court on Monday
after WA Director of Public Prosecutions Robert Cock told the court there was no chance
of convicting the officer.
